Marga Varea is an outreach and audience engagement strategist focused on social issue documentary films. In the past 20 years, she has worked in different capacities for film and television, including script consultant, screenwriter, line producer and outreach director.  She was co-founder of a thriving independent cultural events management and production company, Great Ways, and for several years, she taught screenwriting at trendy Metropolis Film School, while conducting outreach campaigns for several shorts and feature narrative films and international film festivals.  Some of the social impact and outreach campaigns she has recently led include award-winning, acclaimed films such as Traces of the Trade: A Story from the Deep North (POV, 2008), Rebel (PBS, 2013) and 1913 Seeds of Conflict (2014.)

Marga holds a Masters' Degree in Journalism and Communication Studies from Complutense University (Madrid, Spain.
