The Arlington International Film Festival (AIFF) is pleased to announce its official 2015 KICK-OFF on Friday, September 25th, 7:00 P.M., celebrating the cultural encounter of music, art, dance and film. We will begin the evening with the pianist, Joseph Hardwick while enjoying an art exhibition of 20 local artists and succulent hors d’oeuvres prepared by local Arlington restaurants.

This year AIFF looks forward to furthering the integration of the Massachusetts film industry, film departments within academic institutions, arts and entertainment as well as the business community. We are honored to have Chico Colvard as our guest speaker, a celebrated documentary filmmaker and University of Massachusetts adjunct professor. His documentary, Family Affair was the first to be acquired by Oprah Winfrey for her OWN network. Family Affair was shown at the Arlington International Film Festival in 2011. Professor Colvard teaches courses on race, law, and media.

Respecting our relationship with the Armenian community, AIFF will recognize the national commemoration of the Armenian genocide with a dance performance by the Sayat Nova Dance Company, choreographer, Appo Ashjan .
The evening’s festivities will close with the screening of a short film, previewing the upcoming October 8-day festival at the Kendall Square Cinema in Cambridge.

We look forward to celebrating our 5th year of the festival and invite you to come and celebrate the arts with us.
