The Umbrella Stage Company returns to live, in-person professional theater with new covid safety policies, flexible ticketing options, and a well-balanced season including a few area premieres. The season opens with the MA premiere of Audrey Cefaly's The Last Wide Open (Sep. 24-Oct. 10), an unconventional and mystical romantic comedy. Called "Heart-warming. Sweet. Downright funny" and "a perfect date-night choice," it's an intoxicating blend of indie/folk music and magical storytelling that promises to renew our faith in the power of the human spirit.
The season also includes the sea-faring epic The Old Man and The Old Moon; a relevant new take on the satirical The Colored Museum; the joyous musical Head Over Heels, fueled by music from the Go-Gos; and the world premiere of a new play commission by Hortense Gerardo. All shows will be staged in The Umbrella's newly built theater facilities at 40 Stow Street, Concord with limited seating capacity, face mask, and proof of vaccination requirements. Tix $15-$43, with discounts for subscriptions, groups, first responders, military, teachers, and frontline workers. Free parking. https://theumbrellaarts.org/Theater - 978-371-0820 x209
