This film takes us on a journey to meet the former players of the Japanese women’s volleyball team. Now in their 70’s, the players were known as the ‘Witches of the Orient’ because of their seemingly supernational powers on the courts. From the formation of the factory team until their victory at the Tokyo Olympics in 1964, memories and legends rise to the surface and blend inextricably…memories and legends recalled by the women at this reunion.
Official Selection: IFF Rotterdam.
